Material / tool site -- Overseas site

Postby mikethewatchguy on Sat Sep 19, 2009 3:46 pm

I recently learned about an overseas material house...

http://www.nam-hing.com/

I'm much more interested in their tools than parts. The prices are significantly lower plus they carry tools that I don't see in the US houses. I have not ordered from them so I don't know how long it takes or what the shipping charges would be. Use at your own risk, but I thought it's worth a serious looking at.

It appears their site is temporart down. I checked the link when I posted. It also comes up on google if you type in nam-hing. Must be a site update. Try again later

I have saved up several items to purchase, including a Horotec hand setting tool. The prices for this specific tool are better than what I can get here. They also have some other interesting tools that are inexpensive (e.g. pin vises) that I would like to throw in the order.

I know better than to be placing an order right now (I should be selling, not buying), but I'm justifying my buying thinking it'll help my selling.

I would like to get an opinion from folks on using this company. Do you think they're selling Chinese knock-offs (thus lower quality) of the higher end items like the Horotec tool? The pricing diff is $64 versus $83. That's a pretty good savings if you combine the order with other items to help offset shipping costs.

However, I'm leaning more towards the 3 piston Horotec which negates using them anyway. Still, wanting to get a temperature read from the folks here that perform repairs.
